Tamari-ya Guest House at Silk & Soy
Over 160 years ago the house was built by a master craftsman, commissioned by a wealthy merchant family that called the house home for 6 generations. Today the carpenters working on our renovation of the house have all complemented the work that was done by the original builder. Guests staying in the house can enjoy the craftsmanship that went into the house from a large living room on the second floor.
We have furnished the house with historical pieces, some found in the house itself and much dating back to when the house was new.
160年以上前、この家は6世代にわたってこの家に住んでいた裕福な商人の家からの依頼で、熟練の職人によって建てられました。現在、この家の改修に携わる大工さん達は、元の職人さん達が行った仕事に圧巻し褒め称えておられます。この家にご宿泊のお客様は、2階の広いリビングルームから、この家に込められた職人技を楽しむことができます。家具には歴史的な調度品が使用されており、その中には家自体で見つかったものや、家が新築された頃にさかのぼるものも数多くあります。
Staying at the Tamayi-ya Guest House
We offer four private bedrooms for one or two person occupancy or a family/group space that can accommodate up to 6. One of the bedrooms has a private bathroom and there are two further shared bathrooms for guests.
A Continental style breakfast is included covering a coffee or tea from the Silk & Soy cafe. Additional beverages are charged at Cafe rates.
